Improving demand for cattle at Markethill

An entry of 500 store cattle, weanlings and sucklers at Markethill on Saturday 21st May continued to sell in an improving demand with several new customers present to secure stock.

HEIFERS

The 150 store heifers sold in a very strong trade with forward heifers to £214 for 532k at 1140. Main demand from £180 to £195 for 520k at £1015. Good quality middleweights from £185 to £224 for 410k at £920 for a Killylea farmer. Lightweight heifers from £220 to £255 for 316k at £805 for a Milford producer. Second quality heifers in very good demand from £165 to £175 per 100 kilos.
