James Alexander from Randalstown has recently completed the mammoth judging task of placing the commercial entry of cattle at Countryside Live, held at Harrogate.

He selected as his Supreme Champion “More of That”, a 604 kilo Limousin heifer from Phil and Sharon Sellers. He described his champion as “tremendous through her top and has very little waste on her”.

Standing reserve overall was the reserve heifer champion, Mike and Melanie Alford’s British Blue cross Pokerhontus.

Countryside Live attracts a super entry of cattle each year, in addition to a full compliment of sheep classes. Visitors to the event can also participate in various activities, and has enjoyed increasing numbers attending year on year.

James runs the well known Jalex herd of commercial and pedigree cattle in partnership with his father Nelson, and has wins at Balmoral and Allams to his credit.
