The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) member and treasurer of Kilrea YFC, Sara Mulholland, recently led YFCU members successfully to their silver and bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards (DofE).

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a balanced programme of activities in an environment of social interaction and team working. Past member of Kilrea YFC, Emma Manson provided great support to Sara who does the DofE programme through her school.

Within the DofE programme there are three levels which young people are able to progress through to achieve Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards.

Sara recently led a group of six Bronze DofE members who achieved their award in November 2014 including, Thomas Gordon, David Linton, Rachael Chesney, Hollie Dickey, Laura Galloway and Kathleen Galloway of Kilrea, Randalstown and Ahoghill YFC.

All of these members are also proceeding on to their Silver DofE Award along with Ellen Alexander, Jill Halliday, Amy Thompson and Timmy Davidson of Kilrea YFC.

It is always great to see new faces participating in the DofE Award, with participants from Kilrea, Randalstown and Ahoghill YFC achieving their awards in the recent past.

Please get in contact with Sara if you would be interested in taking your DofE Award through the leadership of the YFCU, saramcc@hotmail.co.uk.
