1727 head were penned at Ballymena sheep sale on Wednesday, 25th March. The annual spring lamb show was judged by Brendan Kelly, Ballymena with sponsorship from Hampshire Down sheep breeders association, N.I. Dorset Club and Ballymena Livestock Mart.

A few of the top price pens were purchased for Jacksons butchers, Ballynure, Jenkins butchers, Ballyclare, Ballymena Meats, Doherty and Gray, Ballymena and Choice Cuts, Garvagh.

Prime hoggets met similar trade selling to £4 per kg for a pen of 10 Tex 23kg at £92 each from I Montgomery, Glenwherry and to £98 per head. Cull ewes and rams met excellent demand to £134 for Char, £132 for Texel, £128 for Suff, £118 for CB, and £107 for BF.
