A larger entry of dropped calves on Friday at Rathfriland sold in an excellent trade. Calves up to 3-4 months old sold to £570, £535, £530 and £500 for a Donaghmore farmer.

A 10 day old Sim bull calf sold @ £350. 90 weanlings cleared up to £860 for a 402k Ch from a Moira farm. A 372k Ch heifer calf from Leitrim sold at £790 with a 308k Angus heifer from Rathfriland @ £670. A 288k Lim bull calf sold at £725 or 251p/k. Store heifers sold to £1035 for a 590k Lim from Ballyveamore with a second lot at £1000. Store bullocks sold to £970 with Friesian bullocks to £740. Fat cows to £825 for a 650k Lim from Moira.

A great entry of sheep for April saw spring lambs sell to £96.50 for a Ballynahinch farmer. Overall spring lambs were an easier trade. Hogget numbers are still high with a top price of £96 for an Annaclone farmer. A top per kilo of 380 pence was paid for 23.5k @ £89. 263 fat ewes sold in an excellent trade with farmers from Annalong and Portaferry selling @ £104 each. 100 ewes with lambs at foot to £165 per head.
