Lambs were a much better trade than expected on Tuesday evening. Farmers from Ballyward and Katesbridge sold 24.5k and 25.5k lots at £90 each.

The top 10 lots sold from £87.50 to £90. Fat ewes sold to £95 from Dromara and ewes with 1 lamb at foot to £140.

Sim heifer calves sold to £390 for a Newry farmer. 121 weanlings sold to £855 for males and £775 for females from Kinallen. A top per kilo of 261 pence for 272k at £710 and 228k at £575 or 252 pence per kilo from Ballinran. Store heifers sold to £1105 for a 600k lot from Ballynahinch. 70 bullocks sold to £765 for a 362k lot from Slievenaboley. Suckler stock from a Glassdrummond farmer sold to £1310, Castlewellan farmer £110 Jerrettspass and Portaferry farmers, £1000. A Sim bull from Annalcone sold at £1200 and a big entry of fat cows reached £815 for 600k for a Kilkeel farmer.
