A really good entry for December saw prices for store increase.

Bullocks reached £600 over £1.00 pk. A smashing entry of 65 weanlings of outstanding quality sold to 278ppk for a 246k Lim heifer at £685 from Castlewellan. A Cabra farmer sold a 274k Lim male at £730 or 266.4pk. A Castlewellan farmer sold a 276k DAQ male at £720 or 261p. An Aghalee farmer topped the heifers at £905 for 498k. A special entry of springing cows from Drumaness sold to £1080, fat cows to £930. 104 dropped calves sold to £385 twice for AA from Tandragee. Heifer calves also sold to £330 twice from the same farm.

Just short of 1400 sheep on Tuesday evening sold in a fantastic trade. A top rate for store lambs was 461.5ppk. 462 heavy lambs (24k) averaged £85.40 and 356ppk. A batch of lambs 18k sold at £75 or 417ppk. The heavy lambs reached £97 per head for 28.5k from Corbally. A few heavy Texel ram lambs sold at £106 for a local farmer. Fat ewes sold to £107 twice for farmers from Bryansford and Kilkeel. A further six lots of ewes sold at over £90 per head.
