When it comes to local produce, Northern Ireland’s farmers are the stars of the show and this is certainly the case for four local farmers who appear in a new Easter ad, which airs on TV this week.
Richard and Phil Orr from W. Orr & Son in Raffrey. Co.Down, Mark McKee from Fresh Fields in Comber and Nathan Kane, poultry farmer and supplier to Rockvale Poultry in Richhill, Co. Armagh all appear in the ad showcasing the best of fresh and local produce available at EUROSPAR this Easter.
Being on the small screen is old hat now for Richard and Phillip, who also appeared in the supermarket’s Christmas ad showcasing Orr’s famous spuds, but for Mark and Nathan this will be their small screen debut alongside the suppliers’ carrots and whole chickens.
Brenda Mulligan, Head of Brand Marketing at Henderson Group, owners of the EUROSPAR brand in Northern Ireland said: “Real people campaigns resonate with the public, and in our latest TV ad we’re delighted to have some of our farmers who supply fresh, local produce that will be filling up EUROSPAR’s shelves this Easter. We’d like to remind shoppers that local is something we’re passionate about and we want them to be too.”
Fresh Field’s Mark McKee said: “The team at Henderson Group are extremely dedicated to supporting local farmers and growers, so including us in their campaign keeps it fresh in the mind of the shopper that their carrots are coming from a field not too far away.”
Richard Orr added: “We had a blast filming the Christmas ad, so I was delighted to be back to represent W. Orr & Son for Easter. It is important for shoppers to be reminded where their veggies and meat come from, so if they can shop local, then they should do it as much as they can – especially for holidays and occasions such as Easter.”
John Stewart from Rockvale Poultry said: “We have been working with the Henderson Group for five years now, and we’re delighted to have Nathan representing our company in the new Easter ad. The fresh team at the Henderson Group work tirelessly to ensure their shoppers are able to support local companies like us, and farmers like Nathan. We hope this ad only enhances their passion for local.”
The ad, produced by Belfast agency Genesis Advertising, tells the story of where the retailer’s fresh produce comes from, showing how these important Easter lunch ingredients start their journey from local farms and fields to the family dinner table.
