An entry of 700 cattle at Markethill this week returned an excellent trade in all rings.

The 250 store cattle sold in a firmer demand to a full ringside of buyers from throughout N.I. and export agents.

HEIFERS

Forward heifers sold to £212 for 500k at £1060 followed £209 for 518k at £1080. Main demand from £190 to £206 per 100 kilos. Middleweight heifers sold from £190 to £217 for 480k at £1050. Lightweights from £200 to £266 for 270k at £725. Second quality heifers returned an excellent trade from £160 to £180 per 100 kilos.

An entry of maidens from a Cookstown farmer sold from £450 to £610 each.

CULL COWS

The 120 cull cows sold in a firmer demand. First quality cows from £118 to £137 per 100 kilos. Fleshed friesians from £90 to £108 for 770k at £835. Young friesians from £120 to £152 for 536k at £815. Second quality friesians from £75 to £85 per 100 kilos and the poorest cows from £55 to £70 per 100 kilos.
