The annual sale of Blackface breeding sheep at Ballymena mart attracted a large entry of over 2500 sheep with a fantastic trade recorded in all sections particularly for Lanark type sheep. Top price of the evening was paid to A McFarlane Dungiven who received £290 per head for a pen of tremendous Lanark hoggs. In the cast ewe ring Chas Phillips Draperstown sold a pen of correct ewes to £210 per head and a record trade in the ewe lamb ring saw lambs sell to £195per head paid to J Kerr Coleraine with the lambs on offer averaging £100 per head.
