Dairy stock sold to £1520 at Markethill on Tuesday 2nd December paid for a calved heifer from a Loughgall farmer.

The same seller received £1320 for a calved heifer. An in-calf shorthorn heifer from a Loughgilly producer sold at £1180. A selection of in-calf heifers (approx. 3 – 5 months) sold from £760 to £910 each.

CULL COWS

The 130 cull cows sold in a steady trade. Fleshed cows from £115 to £135 per 100 kilos and up to £1045 for 860k (123). Good quality friesians from £90 to £103 per 100 kilos with a top of £108 for 680k at £730. Second quality friesians from £75 to £85 per 100 kilos and the poorest types from £54 to £70 per 100 kilos.l

The 160 lots in the calf ring sold readily with top quality bulls to £310 for a 3 week old Lim. Several more from £240 to £305 each. Top quality Friesian bulls (under 6 weeks old) sold to £110 each with several more from £70 to £90 each. Stronger friesians sold from £130 to £180 each. Heifer calves to £295 for a Lim with all good types from £180 to £260 each.
