An entry of 820 cattle at Markethill continued to sell in a very firm trade for all stock.

STORE CATTLE

The 380 store cattle attracted buyers from throughout Northern Ireland and export agents.

Heifers

The 150 store heifers sold in an excellent trade with forward heifers from £200 to £223 for 518k at £1155 and up to £1260 for a 604k Angus (209). Middleweights from £200 to £236 for 350k at £830. Second quality heifers from heifers from £170 to £190 per 100 kilos.

The 130 cull cows returned another very good trade. 1st quality cows from £130 to £172 for 710k at £1220. Fleshed friesians from £105 to £124 for 780k at £965. Second quality friesians from £85 to £100 per 100 kilos and the poorest cows in excellent demand from £60 to £78 per 100 kilos.
