The 155 store heifers sold in an exceptionally strong demand. Good quality middleweights sold from £210 per 100kg to £255 per 100kg for 410k Char at £1045 and lightweight heifers sold from £215 per 100kg to £259 per 100kg for 320kg at £830. Forward heifers in excellent demand from £200 per 100kg to £234 per 100kg for 540kg at £1265. Top price of £1290 for 590kg (218). Second quality heifers sold from £180 to £200 per 100kg.

The 38 lots of sucklers sold in an excellent trade to a packed ringside of buyers. Cows and calves to £1720 each. In-calf cows to £1170 each with several more from £1000 to £1140 each.

An entry of 1070 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 25th February sold in a firmer trade for hoggets. Cull ewe prices remained very firm.

Heavy hoggets sold from 367p/k for 24kg at £88 each followed by 364p/k for 25kg at £91 each. Top price of 395 each with several pens from £91 to £94.50 each. The entire entry of heavy hoggets averaged 25.7 kgs at £89.80 each (350p)
