Lamb prices were further reduced at Markethill on Wednesday 24th June. Cull ewe prices remained steady.
The 750 lambs sold in a quieter trade. Good quality light lambs sold to 298p per kilo for 22.3 kilos at £66.50 each. Main demand sold from 280p to 297p per kilo.
Heavy lambs sold from £65 to £68.20 each. Good quality pens sold from 265p to 275p per kilo with a top of 285p per kilo for 24 kilos at £68.50. The average price of the entire entry of heavy lambs was £66.80 each.
Over 200 cull ewes sold in a firm demand with 1st quality ewes selling from £77 to £99 each. Plainer ewes sold from £50 to £70 each.
