MARTS: Markethill

An entry of 650 store cattle, weanlings and suckler stock at Markethill on Saturday 7th November sold in a steady trade for all stock. Another packed ringside of buyers from throughout NI were in attendance.

BULLOCKS

The 250 store bullocks returned a firm trade with good quality middleweights from £200 to £241 for 370k at £890, followed by £231 for 376k at £870. Forward bullocks to £201 for 526k at £1055. All good quality lots from £180 to £195 per 100 kilos. Friesian steers to £960 for 716k (134). All good quality friesians from £130 to £151 for 600k at £905 for a Katesbridge farmer.

Second quality heifers sold in a very good demand from £170 to £180 per 100 kilos.

Fleshed Friesian cows from £90 to £99 for 750k at £745. Second quality friesians from £75 to £85 per 100 kilos and the poorest types from £48 to £65 per 100 kilos. Young Friesian cattle from £125 to £137 for 638k at £875. Young con x clean cattle from £170 to £188 for 430k at £810.
