MARTS: Markethill

An entry of 1050 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 11th November sold in a firmer trade for fat lambs, stores and cull ewes.

Heavy lambs sold to £73 each with a further 20 pens selling from £70 to £72.80 each. Top rate of 287p per kilo was paid for 25.1 kilos at £72 each. All good quality pens sold from 275p to 286p per kilo.

Middleweight lambs sold to 311p per kilo for 20.4 kilos at £63.50 each. All god quality pens sold from 290p to 307p per kilo.

Light stores sold to 385p per kilo for 13 kilos at £50 each. Main demand sold from 320p to 350p per kilo. Stronger pens sold from 300p to 334p per kilo for 19.2 kilos at £64.20 each.

Cull ewes peaked at £104 each. All good quality ewes sold from £67 to £99 each. Plainer ewes sold from £45 to £60 each.
