Another good entry of cattle for December saw dropped calves and weanlings a particularly good trade.

A Newry farmer reached £400 for both male and female AA calves. A pen of Sim heifer calves sold to £350 followed by £340, £330 and £315. 74 weanlings sold to £915 for a 472k Lim bullock from Loughorne. A pen of Lim bullocks from Aughnaskeagh sold at £850, £850, £830, £815 and £790. Heifer weanling sold to £740 for an Upper Ballinderry farmer. Store heifers cleared up to £915 for a 490k DAQ from Ballynahinch. Some great bullocks in the entry saw a BB from Dromara 612k at £1170 and a Sim 614k £1125 with a 590k Sim at £1055 from the same farm.

A smaller entry of 1000 lambs on Tuesday evening increased in price for all weights. The 21k to 22k lambs were exceptionally dear, the 21k lambs averaged £78.71 per head. 119 lambs 18k sold at £74 or 411 ppk. The 23k lots topped at £84.50 or 367ppk. Fat ewes sold to £97 per head.
