Another great January entry of 216 cattle on Friday saw great trade in all sections.

Bullocks sold to £1290 for a 606k Lim from Mayobridge. 15 bullocks sold from £1,015 to £1,290. Heifers reached £980 for a 458k Ch from Ballyward. A 470k Lim Heifers sold at £970. Most heifers sold at over £2.00 per kilo. 69 Weanlings sold in a fantastic trade. A 324k Lim from Carginagh, Kilkeel sold at £845 or 261p/k. A farmer from Killylea, Armagh sold 7 terrific Lim Heifers to 228p/k for a 284k Lim at £650 with a 330k lot at £750 and 352k at £800. Fat ewes cleared up to £800 for a 764k Ch from Drumarkin. In the dropped calf, two Ch sturks sold at £505 and £485. Strong Fr sold to £385 (twice). 3 AA Heifers from Castlewellan sold at £340 each.

There was a good entry of sheep despite difficult weather on Tuesday evening. 600 Hoggets sold to £93 for a batch of 25k from Cookstown. This was followed by £92.50 for 26.5k from Whitecross. A top per kilo of 379p/k was paid to a Lisburn farmer for 19k at £72. Fat ewes sold to £129 per head for a Dromore farmer. The top 10 lots sold from £111 to £129. Aged ewes in lamb sold to £155 per head.
