Cattle took a major lift in prices on Friday with 316 head sold.

A larger entry of bullocks cleared up to £1285 for a 630k Ch from Rathfriland. A 608k Lim from Legananny sold at £1280. A 508k Ch from Kilkeel sold at £1085. The top 10 bullocks sold from £1085 to £1285. Heifers were a flying trade to £1165 for a 640k Sim from Kilkeel. This producer averaged £1072.50 for 10 Ch heifers. The 98 weanlings cleared up to £985 for a 490k BB heifer from Ballinaskeagh. A 430k Lim from Altnadue sold at £890 with a 414k AA at £870. A 330k Ch from Annaclone sold at £800. A 280k DAQ from Ednego sold at £715. 3 Pedigree Ch bulls from Lisburn sold at 1200Gns and 1100Gns (twice). Fat cows sold to £975 for 690k. A pen of suckler cows with calves at foot sold to £1420, £1370, £1320 etc. Dropped calves sold to £575 for an Angus bull from Ballynahatton. £505 was paid for a Her bull calf. Heifer calves sold to £530 for a BB heifer.
