All classes of cattle remained a good trade on Friday with a 4 month old Simmental bull calf from Castlewellan selling at £505. A similar lot sold at £420 from the same farm. Three Angus heifers from Seagahan (Armagh) sold at £415.

Weanlings cleared up to £940 for a Charolais male from Dromara. There were some very high prices per kilo for weanlings with 274k at £710 (twice) from Ballymagarret (Kilkeel).

Fewer heifers in the entry selling to £875 for a Ballyveaghmore farmer.

Bullocks sold up to £1065 for a 630k Hereford from Castlewellan. A 14 month old D’Aquitaine from Ringsend sold at £855.

A Newry farmer sold 3 cows with calves at foot at £1250 with fat bulls to £880 from Silverbridge.

1524 sheep sold on Tuesday evening saw 400 fat ewes in the entry. A Rathfriland farmer topped the sale at £88 for fat ewes. Lambs topped at £73.50 for a Ballywillwill farmer. The top ten lots sold from £70 to £73.50
