Well in excess of 400 cattle on Friday saw some very high prices paid for all classes of stock. A Lisburn farmer sold a 900k DAQ Fat cow at £1350.

Bullocks easily cleared up to £1245 for a 652k Sim from Rathfriland. Probably the best entry of bullocks this Autumn so far e.g. Drumlough farmer: 646k Lim at £1230 and 616k at £1195. Rathfriland farmer: 580k at £1165. Ballyroney farmer: 598k at £1140. Castlewellan farmer: 584k at £1130 etc. 80 store heifers sold to £1170 for a 656k DAQ from Lisburn. Several heifers sold at over £1000 per head. A Downpatrick farmer topped the weanlings at £945 for a 420k Lim male. A 400k DAQ from a Lisburn farm sold at £845. A top of 294p/k was recorded for a 204k Ch at £600 from an Annaclone farmer. Dropped calves sold to £475 for a BB heifer calf from Downpatrick with a Sim heifer at £470 from the same herd. A Leapoges farmer sold 2 BB heifers at £460 each.

Heavy lambs sold to £82 for a Rathfriland farmer with 2 other lots at £80 each for 30k. 25k lots cleared up to £68.50 for farmers from Ardbin, Ballyward and Downpatrick.
