Emma Baxter from Cappagh YFC was named the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster Member of the Year at the association’s Annual General Meeting and Conference which took place at the La Mon Hotel.

Sponsored by United Feeds, Emma was one of six finalists for the award. The County winners were: County Antrim received by Charlotte Taylor, Finvoy YFC, County Armagh received by Alice Hutton, Newtownhamilton YFC, County Down received by Jonathan Sleator, Annaclone & Magherally YFC, County Tyrone received by Emma Baxter, Cappagh YFC, County Londonderry received by Russell Smyth, Coleraine YFC and County Fermanagh received by Gillian Henderson, Kesh YFC. All six finalists were on the edge of their seats before the result was announced as it is the most eagerly anticipated of all the YFCU competitions.

Emma was nominated by her club for her active membership of almost 10 years, in recent months her club also feels that she has achieved so much. Emma took over club leader of Cappagh YFC in 2013, encouraging and participating in everything. As well as being club leader, Emma is also County Tyrone’s secretary. Emma holds two roles which take a lot of commitment and dedication, and Cappagh Young Farmers believe she is doing a fantastic job. Emma attends as many events and competitions as possible, as well as organising club events such as the annual BBQ, Charity knockout and community quiz. Her enthusiasm into the club is infectious and she has great ambitions for Cappagh YFC. As one of the very few drivers, Emma is essential to the club members to get about to competitions and events.

Courtesy of United Feeds, Sara received a commemorative plaque and Cup as well as £100 worth of vouchers from the shop of his choice.
