Moy Park has been named overall company of the year at the UK Food Manufacture Excellence Awards.
The company won the coveted top award at the ceremony in London as well as picking up the meat and poultry manufacturing company of the year award earlier in the evening.
The awards are organised by Food Manufacture magazine who said that the independent judging panel praised Moy Park’s strong category leadership and development, together with its focus on training, sustainability and assessing environmental impacts.
Moy Park’s safety initiative, the ‘Meerkat Way’ was described as “an inspired way of promoting best health and safety practises in busy working environments.”
The judging panel, which was led by Chair of the National Skills Academy Paul Wilkinson, said Moy Park’s was “the best all round entry, which ticked every box.”
Moy Park director of agri fresh operations Gary Leslie, who collected the award, said: “To win this top UK award against a quality field of finalists is an outstanding achievement.
“This award recognises the great teamwork at the heart of Moy Park and I warmly congratulate and thank all our team members for their continued commitment to achieving and maintaining such high standards.”
In recent months Moy Park has also been recognised with an IoD UK director of the year award for Mike Mullan, the company’s executive HR director Europe, as well as receiving top national awards including a RoSPA Health & Safety Award and the IGD John Sainsbury Learning and Development Award.
