A ewe lamb, Munreary Aphrodite ET, (Lot 51) brought early Christmas joy for Claudy Beltex breeder, PLJ Brolly as it was named Champion at the Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club’s Christmas Show of females and in lamb export sale staged at Dungannon Farmers Mart on December 18.

The Reserve Champion title went to Artnagullion Witchity, (Lot 17) a shearling ewe from Elizabeth McAllister’s Artnagullion flock in Kells.

Aged ewe class winner
was Glenkeen Tamsia from Limavady-based F and J Harbinson.

Top price on the day was 1,200gns paid for the Champion, Munreary Aphrodite ET by Show judge, Henry Jewitt from Barnard Castle in County Durham who described the ewe lamb class winner and overall champion as “flashy and smart with a correct and good length body”.

It’s two championship titles in a row now for Patrick Brolly as he took the top honours at the Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club Show and Sale held at Omagh Auction Mart back in September with a young ram lamb, Munreary American Hustle.

Both Munreary Aphrodite and Munreary American Hustle were sired by Skiddaw View Trapper, the Highland Show Champion in 2014.
