The major cross border dairy processing co-operative Lakeland Dairies has announced the appointment of Alo Duffy, Corbrack, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, as the new Chairman of the Co-operative. Mr. Duffy was first elected to the Board of Lakeland Dairies in 2010.

Lakeland Dairies operates the Pritchitts dairy processing facility in Newtownards which is supplied with milk by local dairy farmers throughout Northern Ireland. The farmer owned co-operative operates across fifteen counties on a cross border basis, processing over 800 million litres of milk annually into a range of value-added dairy foodservice products and food ingredients which it exports worldwide.

Mr Duffy succeeds Padraig Young who has retired from the Board having served with distinction as a Board member since 2006 and Chairman since 2008.
