The final of the 2015 YFCU Build It competition, supported by Tesco, took place at Armagh Show, Gosford Forest Park, on Saturday 13th June.

For the final, teams were challenged to build a rabbit hutch, having completed their heats building a hen coop.

Second place winners, Derg Valley YFC, display their rabbit hutch and were joined by Jeanette Fitzpatrick, Tesco Craigavon at Armagh Show.

The Newtownhamilton YFC team represented by Andrew Knight, Gareth McDowell, Mark Knight and Alice Hutton took the 1st place title.

Second place was awarded to Derg Valley YFC, represented by Hannah Hawkes, Clive Hawkes, Gareth Hamilton and Ashley Hamilton.

Ahoghill came in third place and the team consisted of Lewis McGall, Jack Cummings, Lucy Hurrell and Jason Benton.

Jonathan Farrell was the judge of the final. YFCU would like to thank Jonathan for his time.

The finalists were judged on the structural strength of their rabbit hutch, their craftsmanship/team work, the ability of the rabbit hutch to fit the purpose and the ability to use of all the materials provided.

Finally the rabbit hutches were judged on the uniqueness and imaginative design.

Jeanette Fitzpatrick from Tesco Craigavon was on hand to present the prizes to the winning team.

The association wish to thank Tesco for the kind use of their store car parks which hosted the county heats and for their support of the overall competition.
