Chairman William Jones presented winner of the Junior section Stephen Morgan with a new Nitro handpiece generously sponsored by ‘Lister Shearing’. Intermediate winner Jason McNiece received a contribution towards the cost of a ticket to New Zealand.

A spokesperson said: “We are pleased to recognise our younger shearers. It takes many years to learn how to hold a sheep correctly, let alone shear one. Skills come through experience hence why we want to support and encourage the Junior and Intermediate Net-Tex Colate circuit winners. Thanks are expressed to Lister Shearing for sponsoring a new handpiece for the junior section.”
