The Chairman welcomed the Guest Speaker David Wright. David gave an overall view of the impact that the downturn is having on farm gate prices on all sectors over the past 12 months. He discussed the various elements which have caused prices to decline so rapidly including exchange rates, supply and demand and political and economic issues throughout the world. David spoke briefly on CAP Reform and how the changes towards an area based payment is going to affect the intensive sector. Price volatility in all commodities is a major problem when trying to invest in the farm business for the future.

Following a question and answer session Robert McCullough thanked David for a very interesting presentation.
