With almost 1,500 applications made or in progress, a DAERA spokesperson said: “With just over a week remaining to submit EFS applications we would appeal to those who are considering doing so, to contact one of our trained advisers to discuss the options available.

“The EFS Advisory team can be contacted on 0300 200 7848 and can offer ‘one-to-one’ appointments in a local DAERA Direct Office.”

Applications to the EFS must be made online, which requires a Government gateway account to apply.

If you need a Gateway ID you can obtain one via the DAERA website at https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/how-access-daera-online-services.

More information about all the options available under the EFS is available at https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/articles/environmental-farming-scheme-efs.
