RES, one of Northern Ireland’s leading renewable energy developers with an office in Larne, Co. Antrim, has provided £1000 sponsorship to Loughgiel Community Association to enable the group to bring Action Cancer’s Big Bus to the village on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th April 2015.

Action Cancer’s mobile resource centre, the Big Bus, brings its services to over 220 locations across Northern Ireland every year including workplaces, schools and community organisations. Services provided on the Big Bus, include digital breast screening for women (40 - 49 and 70+), M.O.T. health checks for men and women, and health and lifestyle advice. Every year the Big Bus provides approximately 5,000 breast screenings and 4,000 MOT health checks within local communities.

Angela O’Hagan, Loughgiel Community Association commented: “We really can’t wait to avail of the Big Bus services. There are many people within the community who find it difficult to travel to other locations for this sort of thing and thanks to RES we have been able to bring the Big Bus right to our own community.”

For further information on the Big Bus or to book an appointment for the Loughgiel visit please call Action Cancer on 028 9080 3344.
