Strong demand for cull cows at Markethill

An entry of 165 cull cows at Markethill on Tuesday 5th April sold in a very strong demand for all types.

Beef-bred cows to £174 for 726k Lim at £1265. Top price £1420 for 990k Lim (143). Main demand from £120 to £132 per 100 kilos.

Fleshed Friesian cows to £125 for 678k at £845. Main demand from £95 to £114 for 750k at £860.

Second quality Friesians from £80 to £90 per 100 kilos and the poorest types from £55 to £75 per 100 kilos.

Aged bulls to £106 for 1050k Hereford at £1110.
