Strong seasonal entry of cattle at Swatragh

Cattle: A strong seasonal entry of quality cattle on Monday 20th June met a flying trade with a good ring of buyers with some very good prices, more quality stock is required to meet demand.

Heifers selling to £765 for 348kg (£2.20 per kg), bullocks selling to £1,200 for 554kgs ( £2.17 per kg) with cows and calves selling to £1,095

Bullocks: Swatragh producer 554kg, £1,200; 610kg, £1,195; 576kg, £1,060; Limavady producer 482kg, £930; 380kg £645; 290kg, £410; 368kg, £535; 482kg, £920; 504kg, £770.

Sheep: Another super entry of 585 sheep at Swatragh on Saturday 18th June witnessed a very solid lamb trade. Several pens of lambs sold well in excess of £77 each to a top rate of £87.50, ewes sold to £85.00 with over 100 on offer and ewes and lambs sold to £200.00.
