Ulster Unionist MLA Robin Swann has said that he is delighted to be back on Stormont’s Agriculture and Rural Development Committee.
Mr Swann previously served on the committee for 18 months between 2013 and 2014.
He said: “Following the successful election of Tom Elliott and Danny Kinahan to Westminster a reshuffle of some Stormont Committee memberships was required. Having previously served on the Committee of Agriculture, and representing the constituency of North Antrim, my party considered me to be a suitable MLA to once again take up the vacant position.
“I am glad to have been re-appointed to the committee. Agriculture is an issue that I have continued to have a major interest in and I am only too aware of the challenges facing our farmers right now.”
Mr Swann said that he was looking forward to getting to work on the many issues that impact of the local agri industry.
“This is an important time for the committee. It has a burgeoning in-tray of issues which all need attention,” he added.
