The Crafty Ladies Creative Day

Over 50 WI ladies participated in the Slemish Area one day craft school hosted by Broughshane Institute.

On a lovely spring morning on 4th March participants gathered in 2nd Broughshane Presbyterian Church Hall for classes in calligraphy, smocking, drawn thread work, jointed teddies, floral art, decoupage and mountmellic embroidery.

After morning coffee and a welcome by Sophia Maybin, chairman of Homecraft Sub-Committee, the ladies joined their tuition groups where they set about their work.

After a busy morning the groups were united for a lovely lunch and a natter. After the welcome break the ladies returned to their crafts for the rest of the afternoon.
