The Young Farmers Clubs’ of Ulster (YFCU) Schools Programme ‘From Field to Fork’ supported by Moy Park, the YFCU’s community events sponsor, and run in association with Tesco and Dunbia recently visited Larne High School.

Some 20 pupils from year 12 had the opportunity to learn about all the stages involved in the food chain from production to retail.

Andrew Boyd, Straid YFC member and active farmer, Sharon Doran, PR manager from Dunbia and Caoimhe Mannion, marketing manager Tesco NI all presented to the pupils as part of the event.

The event gave pupils the chance to find out more about the food chain and the importance of using local produce.

It also gave them the opportunity to find out about the many careers options available in the agri-industry and about the work and activities of YFCU.

If your school would be interested in having the programme delivered to pupils please contact Victoria Ross at YFCU tel: 90 370713 or email victoria.ross@yfcu.org.
