Weanlings excel in price at Rathfriland

Another good entry on Friday saw weanlings excel in price. A top price this week of 267.5 pence per kilo was paid for a 314k Lim @ £840 from Caraginagh.

A top per head of £900 was paid to a Banbridge farmer for a Lim male. Weanling heifers to 248p/k for a 252k Lim @ £625 from Dromore. Store heifers easily reached £1205 for a 648k Lim from Castlevennon. Other lots from this farm sold @ £1130 and £1075. Fat cows to 139.50p/k for 674k from Newcastle @ £940. A larger entry of Bullocks cleared up to £1190 for a 690k BB from Katesbridge. An Angus from Tandragee weighing 574k sold @ £1115 and a Sim from Rathfriland @ £1090. Fr bullocks excelled in price e.g. 466k @ £825 and 468k @ £815 etc. In the dropped calf section a 3 month old Lim bull from Annaclone sold @ £560 with angus bulls to £410.
