Dairy stock sold to a top of £1500 at Markethill on Tuesday 6th December paid for a calved heifer for a Loughgall farmer.

A Newry farmer received £1380 for a calved heifer and an Armagh farmer received £1200 for a called heifer.

CULL COWS

The 200 cull cows sold in a very firm trade especially in Friesian type cows. Beef bred cows sold steady from £125 to £141 per 100 kilos for 620k at £870. Top price £1085 for 788k (136). Fleshed Friesian cows from £100 to £119 for 660k at £790 and to a top of £1025 for 920k. Second quality Friesian cows from £80 to £90 per 100 kilos and the poorest types £60 to £75 per 100 kilos.

CALVES: 170 Lots in the calf ring returned a very firm trade. Good quality bulls sold from £250 to £330 for a Lim. Suitable heifers sold from £220 to £325 for a Blonde.
