Weanling calves sell to 332 pence per kilo at Rathfriland Co-Op

While dropped calves sold to £430 for a strong Ch bull from Downpatrick, the 100 weanlings excelled in price at Rathfriland Co-Op. A top of 332p/k was paid for a 198k Ch at £640 from a Banbridge farm.

Others from this farm sold at 287p/k for 246k at £705, 12 weanlings, 6 male and 6 female, averaged 260p/k.

Heavier weanlings cleared up to £980 (244p/k).

Bullocks reached £1,020 for a 500k Her from Rathfriland.

Heifers sold to £1,145 with several from £1075 up.

Fat cows sold to £945 for a 712k Ch. A 636k Hol sold at £770. An Angus weighing 432k sold at £735 or 170p/k.
