THE week’s leading up to this year’s Winter Fair saw Ai Services (Northern Ireland) Ltd embarking on a major fund raising campaign in support of the ‘Friends of the Cancer Centre’ at Belfast City Hospital. The focus of the work undertaken was the sale of ballot tickets for a major draw, which took place at the recent dairy showpiece in Belfast.

Prizes with a total value of £3,200 were available. These included £500 worth of services from Ai Services, four years’ supply of liquid nitrogen from BOC; 20 doses of Cookiecutter Hunter semen, a top genomic sire, from CRV; 10 doses of Goldday, a high rank production and type sire, from GGI; 10 doses of Massey; the top ranking sire in the world, from CRI; 6 bags of grass seed from Fane Valley; 1 tonne of dairy or beef concentrate, from United Feeds and a 24 inch LCD television, from Donaghy Brothers, Kilrea.

Ai Services has announced the name of the prize winners.

They are: 1, Mr Gerard McGlone from Clogher; 2, Mr Seamus Quinn from Ardboe; 3, Mr W Hill from Tandragee; 4, Mr Steven Houston from Glarryford; 5, Mr T Boyd from Larne; 6, Miss Niamh Jones from Dungannon; 7, Mr James Thompson from Ballycastle; 8, Mr Adam Crawford from Ballygowan.

Commenting on the tremendous success of the fund raising initiative, Ai Services’ Ivan Minford said: “Everyone involved with the campaign is absolutely delighted with the amount of money raised. I would like to thank everyone who bought ballot tickets and, of course, our sponsors, without whose generosity we would not have been able to offer such an exciting range of prizes.”

Ivan concluded: “Special thanks must also go to all of the Ai Services technicians and office staff, who put so much time and effort in over the past number of months. They are a tremendous group of people.”
