Aughnacloy farmer dies after bull attack

A farmer has died after being attacked by a bull in Co Tyrone.

Police have said the incident took place in a field on Saturday and that the animal had been shot to prevent further attacks.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSENI) said it was investigating a “fatal incident” in the Aughnacloy area.

PSNI inspector Keith Jamieson said: “After consultation with the vet and members of the family, police shot the bull as it posed a risk.

“The office of the Police Ombudsman has been informed of the incident.”
