Commercials make history

Maxwell Brothers were tapped out Reserve Commercial Champion and also got Reserve Junior Interbreed Champion.

Judge for the day Berwyn Hughes from Wales did the to perfection as the Interbreed results backed up his top placed animals with Commercials taking Reserve Interbreed Champion, Reserve Interbreed Junior Champion and also Reserve Interbreed Pairs.

Commercial Champion on the day went to the JCB Commercial Partnership which is Jonathon Neill, Gareth Corrie and Charlie Beverland. From their big line up it was their Red Limousin cross heifer that took champion and also Reserve Interbreed Champion. This heifer was a great investment for the team as she caught their eye in Hilltown Market last winter and was bought for £1,100.

The Commercial club would like to wish JCB Commercials all the best with this heifer as she is set for the Highland show in six weeks time.

Native Champion was exhibited by S&S Matchett.

Reserve Champion was given to the Maxwell Brothers from Roscommon with their Limousin cross steer. These two brothers represented Southern Ireland cattle very well as they also were tapped out as Reserve Junior Interbreed.

Taking reserve on the day was the Small family from Kilkeel with a black Limousin cross heifer. Reserve steer was awarded to Keith Williamson, Benburb with “Kingsman”.

Tapped out champion native on the day was “She’s The One” exhibited by S&S Matchett. This heifer was sired by their stock bull Carrigroe Fred. Champion pairs was given to Jack Smyth in which he paired two black Limousin cross heifers.
