This is a hugely diverse worldwide industry, worth some £9 billion to the UK economy and employing over 300,000 people.

That was the thread running through the messages delivered by a range of industry speakers to the horticulture and floristry students at Greenmount’s annual Horticulture Careers Event held earlier this year.

It reflects the wide variety of careers available in horticulture at management and operative level in Plant Science and Technology, Art and Design including Floristry, Sports Leisure and Green Space, Heritage and Conservation, Garden Design and Construction, Health and Wellbeing and Business Production and Food.

The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) is holding a Careers Advice Evening at Greenmount Campus on Thursday 25 August at 7pm and invites you to come and find out more about courses and careers available in the horticulture sector.

If you are interested in a career in horticulture or floristry, why not come along and get advice on how you could grow your career.

All courses make extensive use of the excellent teaching and practical facilities at Greenmount Campus and will prepare you for a successful career in horticulture either as a manager or supervisor or grounds person.
