Dungannon Mart is venue for Beltex Summer Show and Export Sale

The Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club is holding its annual Summer Show and Export Sale at Dungannon Farmers Mart on Friday, 26th August.

A total of 94 MV Accredited and Scrapie Monitored Pedigree Beltex Sheep will go under the hammer following showing, which will be judged by Mr Andrew Morton (Morton’s Beltex) Lochend Farm, Stirlingshire.

This year’s show and sale is being sponsored by EasyTag and Lorraine Kirk from the company will be in attendance on the day showcasing a range of EasyTag products, from tags to minerals, and she will also be more than happy to answer any questions that Beltex breeders and commercial sheep farmers may have.

A total of 63 Beltex males will enter the sales ring with the breakdown as follows: one aged ram, 52 shearling rams and 10 ram lambs.

The female line-up will total 31 sheep and this is comprised of 28 shearling ewes and three ewe lambs.

The show will start at 11.00am with the sale scheduled to commence at 1.00pm.

Charity raffle

The Beltex Sheep Society in association with the Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club on the day will be announcing the winners of the Irish Beltex Breeders Prize Raffle.

Tickets are still available and will be selling up to and on the day of the show and sale.

Prizes include a shearling ewe, donated by Glenkeen Livestock, 10 bags Greenvale Stage 2 Sheep Feed, donated by David Christie and Son, Easy Thrive Mineral Drench, donated by EasyTag and a £50 Meat Box donated by Castlescreen Farm.

All proceeds are in aid of Cancer Research UK.
