The case arose when a DAERA Official Veterinary Surgeon at an abattoir examined two animals presented by Dennis Hamill. The first animal was unable to bear weight on its left hind leg and the other animal had a large red bulbous mass on the right hind foot. In the opinion of the Official Veterinary Surgeon both animals had been caused unnecessary suffering during transport.
