Hogan is key note speaker at conference

Next week's European Federation of Animal Science Conference in Belfast has been boosted by the news that the EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan has confirmed his attendance at the Plenary Session on Tuesday 30 August.

The conference will see over 1500 delegates arriving in Belfast from across the globe from Sunday 28 August to participate in five days of discussion on current and future advances in animal science.

Key scientific sessions at the conference will include discussions on the latest advances in livestock genetics, nutrition, management, health and welfare for all the main livestock species including dairy and beef cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry.

The conference will be rounded off with a series of local farm and industry visits which will highlight world class examples of efficient livestock and milk production.

Commissioner Hogan will speak on “European Agriculture – Challenges, Opportunities and Innovation as a Driver of Change”.
