Large turnout at Ayrshire stockjudging competition
Club chairman James Brown welcomed everyone and thanked hosts John and Caroline Suffern for the warm welcome to their Ravenhill Herd based at Crumlin.
“It has been a fantastic night, and I am delighted to see a great crowd,” he said at the conclusion of the event.

Master judge for the evening was Scotsman John Cochrane, former general manager at the Ayrshire Cattle Society.
The results of the stockjudging competition include:
Under 18-years- old – 1,Leah Steel; 2, Brian Weatherup; 3, William Watterson.
Over 18-years- old – 1, Henry Thompson and Lynda Fleming; 2, Laurence Hamill and John Henning.
Over 18 years-old, confined to members of the Ulster Ayrshire Cattle Club – 1, Stewart Baxter; 2, Philip Kelly and Richard Emerson; 3, Clarie Hunter.
The annual multi-breed dairy calf show takes place at Ballymena Mart on Saturday, September 10. Ayrshire entry forms and schedules are available from club secretary Jayne McConnell.
