Register the kids for Mini Mud Madness on Saturday 24th September, or get your friends together for the full Mud Madness experience on Sunday 25th September. Mud Madness is Northern Ireland’s original, muckiest and best off-road challenge.

The obstacles are a perfect combination of natural wet and muddy ones and man-made ones which combine with the natural landscape to provide you with fun, exhilarating challenges.

Speaking at the launch, Q Radio Presenter Stephen Clements who will compere the event said: “Sunday’s event takes place over a two lap course which totals just short of 5km and all participants are encouraged to raise funds for Mud Madness’ charity partner, Action Cancer.

“Online registration is now open at www.mud-madness.com and everyone who signs up will on the day receive a Mud Madness t-shirt, McVities Jaffa Cakes goodies and timing chip.”

Action Cancer Events Fundraiser Steph Ellis said: “We are thrilled to be the new official charity partner for the September 2016 Mini Mud Madness and Mud Madness events. By getting involved in this unique event you will not only be guaranteed a fun-filled day, but also an amazing sense of achievement at having raised vital funds for Action Cancer.

“In Northern Ireland someone receives a cancer diagnosis every hour of every day and one in two of us will receive a cancer diagnosis in our lifetime. While cancer rates are on the increase, early detection and improved treatments mean that survival rates are improving. Our services have never been needed more.”

McVities’ NI Business Account Manager Tim McAuley said: “McVities Jaffa Cakes are delighted to continue their sponsorship of this great event and are looking forward to working with our new charity partner, Action Cancer, in raising vital funds for this very necessary and worthwhile charity in NI.”

Action Cancer is Northern Ireland’s leading, local cancer charity. Its mission is to save lives and support local people through cancer awareness, prevention, detection and support. The charity provides a range of services including breast cancer screening, MOT health checks, health promotion, research, counselling and complementary therapies.

Services are delivered from Action Cancer House, Belfast, at regional locations and on board the charity’s Big Bus, which travels to 235 locations throughout Northern Ireland annually. This year, Action Cancer will provide support for over 50,000 people, including breast screening for 11,000 women.

Steph added: “We rely on the generosity of the Northern Ireland public to raise money for us. We receive no government funding and must raise over 4 million per year to operate our life saving services. By making a pledge to take part in Mud Madness and support us you will be doing your bit to fight cancer.”
