Derek has built his Culnaghechan herd up since 2003. Over the years he has had many successes in both the show and sale circuits locally and mainland UK with his top price to date standing at 48,000gns.

Over the years he has retained most of his female progeny and is now in the position to sell females as he already has sufficient numbers of breeding females in his herd.  Currently his herd stock bull Iveagh Gilkes purchased for 20,000gns at Carlisle is producing calves with true Limousin characteristics, with good conformation and easy calving trait.

Derek states: “He is probably the best bull I have used for easy calving on our farm which is a most important key within the Limousin breed and my herd. His first five sons who have travelled to Carlisle since October 2015 last year have averaged £7,035 and he is consistently breeding great calves.”

Within the sale there will be females on offer that have some of the best bloodlines in the herd including a full sister to Carlisle Intermediate Champion Culnagechan Carlow and also a full sister to Culnagechan Handsome Carlisle Senior Champion.
