THE South West Fermanagh Group recently completed a busy winter programme, with the group AGM held in Florencecourt.
The elections were conducted by Wesley Aston, Policy Director, who very kindly stepped in for Harry Sinclair, who was unwell.
Ian Brown was elected Group Chairman and Bertie Swann was elected as his deputy. We wish Ian and Bertie every success in their new roles and would like to express our thanks to out-going Chairman David Millar for all his contributions over the past two years.
After the elections Wesley gave members an update, and held a discussion, on some of the current issues which are affecting local members and how the UFU is working in these areas, including recent EU budget negotiations, which were ongoing as the members met in Florencecourt.
Do you receive notification of UFU meetings and events by text message? The UFU has recently changed the way they contact members and no longer send notifications by post. Please contact the Enniskillen office with your mobile number (or a member of your close family) to receive these notifications.
The Group would also like to congratulate Abraham Veitch on recently winning the dairy class of the Co. Fermanagh UFU Silage Competition.
Members, or more importantly their wives, have been invited to a Ladies Evening, which is being held at the Manor Garden Centre, Lisnaskea on Thursday 14 March, at 7.30pm.
A short presentation will be made by Deputy President Barclay Bell, along with his wife, Lesley regarding their home cut-flower production enterprise. The evening will be concluded with a floral demonstration by Timothy Elliott.
