The Ulster Unionist Assemblyman, who is also North Antrim UUP Chairman, was speaking after reports were carried in a variety of media outlets which indicated that JBS, the largest food manufacturer in the world, had informed its shareholders that it is to seek to relocate its official international headquarters to the island of Ireland.

Mr Swann said: “If JBS can be considered to specifically relocate its international headquarters to Ballymena, it will mean additional jobs and investment to follow for people who work in Moy Park.

“Ballymena needs to be able to supply Grade A office space which would be perfect for the headquarters requirements of an international company of the standing of JBS.

“It would also result in a terrific jobs boost and investment for the region which has seen so many job losses in recent years.

“I urge both the Stormont Assembly and InvestNI to join the UUP in doing all we can to encourage JBS to make Ballymena its international home,” said Mr Swann.
